Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell Bluejackets vs. Salem Lions

The Mitchell Bluejackets will head out to challenge the Salem Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Mitchell is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Linton-Stockton just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Sunday. They fell 60-48 to the Miners. The loss was the Bluejackets' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Henryville.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mitchell, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Mitchell against Salem in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 60-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mitchell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
