Football Recap: Woodrow Wilson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Preston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodrow Wilson). They walked away with a 45-34 win over the Preston Knights on Friday. The Flying Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

When it comes to explaining why Preston lost, don't look at Slaton Manko. Despite the final result, he threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 82 yards and one score. The Knights' leading receiver Aidan Schmidl was Manko's top target yet again, picking up 117 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Woodrow Wilson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Preston, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodrow Wilson will take on Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Preston, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bridgeport at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
