Basketball Recap: Cherokee Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cherokee waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 61-51 win over the North Greene Huskies. While the Chiefs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cherokee's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for North Greene, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherokee and David Crockett will round out the year against one another at 5:30 p.m. on the 30th. The Chiefs will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Greene, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chuckey-Doak at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Black Knights have now posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
