Basketball Recap: West Orange-Stark Takes a Loss

West Orange-Stark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 39-22 bruising from the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1287th, while the Bears are ranked 440th).

West Orange-Stark's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, their win bumped their record up to 23-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Orange-Stark will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lumberton at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, they will venture away from home to face off against Vidor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
