Basketball Recap: Southern Maryland Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Southern Maryland Christian Academy lost against King's Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs fell 39-28 to the King's Christian Academy Eagles. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

King's Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylee Raley, who went 6 for 13 en route to 18 points. That's the most points Raley has posted since back in January of 2024. Destini Shorts was another key player, putting up three points in addition to 13 rebounds and four blocks.

Southern Maryland Christian Academy's record is now 5-9. As for King's Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.

When Southern Maryland Christian Academy and King's Christian Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Southern Maryland Christian Academy will take on Takoma Academy and their eight-game winning streak at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, King's Christian Academy will try to stop Friendship Collegiate Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
