Softball Recap: Alliance Bulldogs vs. Lexington Minutemen
Alliance was handed a two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lexington on Saturday. The Alliance Bulldogs blew past the Lexington Minutemen 16-10. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Alliance got a massive performance out of Kyra Jespersen, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Diane Dubray, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Alliance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lexington only posted a batting average of .250.
Alliance's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-18. As for Lexington, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.
Alliance didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-4 loss vs. North Platte on the 21st. Lexington has also already played their next matchup, a 14-2 defeat against Cozad on the 21st.
