Football Recap: Blanco's Rushing Attack Does It Again

Blanco had won seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 8-2 to make it eight. They enjoyed a cozy 45-28 win over the Comfort Bobcats/Deer. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Blanco had a senior duo take command as Colten Kuebel gained 190 total yards and three touchdowns and Brodrick Siwecki rushed for 166 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. Siwecki's longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Blanco was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 423 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in 19 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

As for Comfort, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. They gained 52 more yards on the day, but it was Blanco that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Comfort still got an impressive performance from Carter Pape, who rushed for 144 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Pape is now averaging an impressive 101.2 rushing yards per game.

Blanco does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Comfort, they will square off against Tidehaven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats/Deer will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
