Softball Recap: Newton-Conover Comes Up Short

Newton-Conover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 18-0 to the Bunker Hill Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Newton-Conover's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Bunker Hill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Newton-Conover will face off against rival Maiden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bunker Hill is set to square off against their familiar foe Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears are on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Trojans a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
