Basketball Game Preview: Catawba Ridge Copperheads vs. Lexington Wildcats

The Catawba Ridge Copperheads will venture away from home to face off against the Lexington Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Catawba Ridge greeted the New Year with with a 45-31 win over Northwestern. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Copperheads.

Mark Caslaru was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Thomas, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lexington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 59-55 W over Lower Richland on Sunday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Lexington's record is now 4-7. As for Catawba Ridge, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8.
