Basketball Recap: Cairo Takes a Loss

Cairo lost against Woodlawn back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pilots were dealt an 81-24 loss at the hands of the Cardinals.

Woodlawn can attribute much of their success to Sophia Skinner, who went 7-for-12 on her way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Kibler, who shot 63% from the field en route to 13 points and three steals.

Cairo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Woodlawn, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Cairo will face off against Sesser-Valier/Waltonville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodlawn, they will challenge Pinckneyville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
