Softball Game Preview: Chittenango Bears vs. Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars

The Chittenango Bears will face off against the Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chittenango has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Cicero-North Syracuse will come in with three straight victories.

Chittenango's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Marcellus hitters got past them. The Bears fell 10-6 to the Mustangs on Monday.

Alivia Cavotta made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. MacKenna Palko was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cicero-North Syracuse won against Baldwinsville on Thursday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Northstars beat Liverpool by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1.

Cicero-North Syracuse's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Rockwell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Chittenango's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Cicero-North Syracuse, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Chittenango hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cicero-North Syracuse struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
