Volleyball Recap: William Selis Key Part of Team Effort in Kingsmen Win

Penn hadn't done well against South Bend Riley recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Kingsmen came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Kingsmen: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Monday, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Penn never let South Bend Riley on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-13.

Penn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Selis, who had 17 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Jacoby Forbes, who had three digs and three aces.

Penn is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for South Bend Riley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-14.

Coincidentally, Penn and South Bend Riley will both be playing Elkhart the next time they take the court. The Kingsmen will head out to face the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
