Baseball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton suffered their biggest defeat since March 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pine Forest Trojans, falling 11-4. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Brady Wilson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Triton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kason Brown, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was William Meredith, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Triton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Pine Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

While Triton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
