Basketball Recap: Centerville Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Centerville lost against Fairmont back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Centerville Elks lost to the Fairmont Firebirds at home by a 68-53 margin. The Elks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fairmont found their leader in freshman Janiyah Hargrave, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. Hargrave's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Kaylah Thorton was another key player, going 7 for 15 on her way to 19 points and four steals.

Centerville's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Fairmont, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centerville will venture away from home to challenge Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fairmont, they will head out to square off against Beavercreek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
