Basketball Recap: Buchholz Comes Up Short

Buchholz and Tocoi Creek squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Buchholz had to settle for second. They lost 56-30 to the Tocoi Creek Toros. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-53 back in November of 2024.

Tocoi Creek was led to victory by Gabi Iturralde and Audrey Beyer. Iturralde went 6 for 11 on her way to 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals, while Beyer went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points and three steals. Asiana McCreary was another key player, putting up eight points and three blocks.

Buchholz's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Tocoi Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Buchholz does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tocoi Creek, they will challenge Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tocoi Creek will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
