Preview: Joliet West Tigers vs. Bloom Blazing Trojan
The Joliet West Tigers will square off against the Bloom Blazing Trojan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Joliet West earned a 61-49 victory over Plainfield Central. Given Joliet West's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Plainfield Central is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Maziah Shelton, who scored 35 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Chism, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Bloom put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 62-30 victory over Thornridge at home. Winning may never get old, but Bloom sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
The victory made it two in a row for Joliet West and bumps their season record up to 15-12. As for Bloom, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
