Basketball Recap: Onaga Takes a Loss

Onaga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Valley Heights Mustangs and fell 76-32. The Buffaloes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-16.

Onaga's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbie Ringel, who posted eight points. Ringel is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Laney Marten also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Onaga's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Valley Heights, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Onaga has already played their next matchup, a 56-43 victory against Rural Vista [Hope/White City] on the 24th. Valley Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
