After a string of seven wins, Houston Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Providence Christian Eagles who were credited with the win. The Providence Christian Eagles got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Houston Academy Raiders' three. Houston Academy were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than four goals in the seven games prior), but Providence Christian's defense proved too tough.

Houston Academy's goal came courtesy of Nate Selig, who's now up to 69 this season.

Houston Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Providence Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-4 record this season.

Houston Academy and Providence Christian are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Raiders will venture away from home to take on Mobile Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston Academy will be up against Mobile Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.56 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Providence Christian, they will host Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
