The Cowan Blackhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Northeastern Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Northeastern took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cowan, who comes in off a win.
Cowan will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Wapahani on Thursday. The Blackhawks were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Raiders.
Savannah Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hall was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cowan let Bryleigh Hiatt and Madison Norris run wild. Hiatt went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Norris went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Hiatt a new career-high. Taylor Young was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Cowan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Northeastern fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Eastern Hancock on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Royals: they've now lost six in a row.
Isabella Peed made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4.
Cowan's record now sits at 6-8. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Cowan hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Northeastern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Cowan couldn't quite finish off Northeastern in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 and fell 3-1. Can the Blackhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
