Softball Recap: Lake Minneola Has No Trouble Against Pasco

Lake Minneola made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pasco, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Lake Minneola was the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over Pasco on Monday. The matchup marked the Hawks' most dominant win of the season so far.

Hannah Madden looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amaliz Martinez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Giselle Mccormick was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Lake Minneola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasco only managed five hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Lake Minneola and bumps their season record up to 7-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing seven strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.67 in the others. As for Pasco, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Minneola will face off against Cornerstone Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Charter Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Lake Minneola surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pasco, they will take on Academy at the Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasco's pitchers better be ready for this one: Academy at the Lakes has averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
