Basketball Recap: East Valley Athletes for Christ Takes a Loss

East Valley Athletes for Christ suffered their biggest loss since March 12th on Friday. They were dealt an 86-55 defeat at the hands of the Eduprize Eagles. The loss was East Valley Athletes for Christ's first of the season.

East Valley Athletes for Christ's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Sorensen, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Sorensen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron McAvoy, who put up seven points.

Having lost for the first time this season, East Valley Athletes for Christ fell to 4-1. As for Eduprize, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Valley Athletes for Christ will host Heritage Academy Gateway at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Valley Athletes for Christ is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season. As for Eduprize, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Premier Prep- PHHoenix at 7:00 p.m.
