Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Jefferson

Jefferson had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.1 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Burbank Bulldogs by a score of 67-59. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in January, they had to take a 73-63 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Perez, who went 10 of 18 en route to 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, Perez now owns an excellent 45.1% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrien Reyna, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Perez wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Jefferson was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Jefferson pushed their record up to 20-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Burbank, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-19.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-38 win against Brackenridge on the 7th. As for Burbank, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-61 loss against Seguin on the 7th.
