Baseball Game Preview: Lake Cormorant vs. Grenada Chargers

Lake Cormorant is 0-3 against Grenada since March of 2024 but things could change on Friday. Lake Cormorant will host the Grenada Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Lake Cormorant has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Lake Cormorant is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Grenada on Tuesday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 12-2.

For Grenada's part, Brayden Trusty made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Trusty was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Grenada got a big performance out of Daniel Hopper, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Hopper has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Klinck, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Grenada always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Grenada's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Lake Cormorant, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
