Alleghany is 7-2 against Elkin since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trojans will host the Buckin' Elks at 7:30 p.m. Alleghany will be strutting in after a win while Elkin will be coming in after a defeat.

If Alleghany beats Elkin with 42 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Trojans simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat North Wilkes 42-12. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four games by 30 points or more so far this season.

Aiden Love and John LeMasters were among the main playmakers for Alleghany as the former gained 235 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter rushed for 81 yards and a pair of TDs. Love really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 72 yards. Another back making a difference was Alexis Nuevo, who rushed for 93 yards on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Alleghany was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 400 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Another reason for the win was Alleghany's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, AJ Perong was the leader with two.

Meanwhile, Elkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by East Wilkes and fell 66-7. The Buckin' Elks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-0.

The victory made it two in a row for Alleghany and bumps their season record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points in those games. As for Elkin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Alleghany beat Elkin 17-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Buckin' Elks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
