Softball Recap: Annawan-Wethersfield Comes Up Short

Annawan-Wethersfield came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 18-5 to the Newman Central Catholic Comets. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost three in a row.

Annawan-Wethersfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Newman Central Catholic, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Annawan-Wethersfield will venture away from home to face off against River Ridge/Scales Mound at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Newman Central Catholic, they will head out to square off against Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
