High school football rankings: Florence-Carlton finishes No. 1 in final Montana MaxPreps Top 25

Falcons go 12-0 en route to Class B state title.

The high school football season in Montana came to a close over the weekend. Florence-Carlton (Florence) was among the victors, beating Bigfork 42-0 in the Class B state championship game. That helped propel the Falcons to the No. 1 ranking in the final Montana MaxPreps Top 25.

Florence-Carlton was dominant throughout the season, averaging 43 points per game and allowing just 7.2 with four shutouts. In four playoff games, the Falcons outscored their opponents 158-15.

Junior quarterback Patrick Duchien was the catalyst offensively, throwing for 2,612 yards and 35 touchdowns while running for 596 yards and 13 more scores.

Led by MaxPreps Montana Player of the Year Tyson Rostad, unbeaten Class A state champion Hamilton finished No. 2 in the rankings. The Broncs beat Laurel 21-7 in the title game.



Another unbeaten state champion in Sentinel (Missoula) finished in the No. 3 spot.
