Baseball Recap: Sherman Oaks CES' Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Sherman Oaks CES was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Sun Valley Magnet last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sherman Oaks CES Knights took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vaughn White Tigers on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the White Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Judah Sapong made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Balerdi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Sherman Oaks CES' defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Vaughn, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Sherman Oaks CES will challenge Hollywood at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vaughn, they will head out on the road to challenge Wilson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Wilson: 2.2, Vaughn: 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
