Soccer Recap: Venice Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Venice can now relate to. They lost 8-1 to the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 15th).

Venice now has a losing record at 8-9-3. As for Palm Harbor University, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-1-1.

Venice does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palm Harbor University, they will face off against George Jenkins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Palm Harbor University knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully George Jenkins likes a good challenge.
