The Carthage Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Cumberland Academy Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Carthage will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Carthage got the win against Gilmer by a conclusive 3-0.
While Carthage won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Cumberland Academy and Pine Tree met for a duel on Friday where Cumberland Academy couldn't get it done. Cumberland Academy took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pine Tree.
While Cumberland Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21.
Carthage has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. As for Cumberland Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
