Basketball Recap: Ball Drops Season-High Score on Texas City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ball). They really took it to the Texas City Stingarees for the full four quarters, racking up a 92-38 victory. With the Tornadoes ahead 48-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Ball's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kalyn Toussaint, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 assists. That's the most points Toussaint has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braeon Arceneaux, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards.

Toussaint wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Ball was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Texas City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaydence Peoples, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. Peoples is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Daryiah Robinson was another key player, putting up six points.

The victory snapped Ball's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-13 record. As for Texas City, they dropped their record down to 4-21 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Santa Fe the next time they take the court. Texas City will head out to face Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ball will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
