Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Ponchatoula

The Central Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Ponchatoula Green Wave at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Central managed to keep up with Liberty Magnet until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Central lost 4-0 to Liberty Magnet. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Ponchatoula fell victim to Fontainebleau and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 4-0.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Ponchatoula, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Central took their victory against Ponchatoula in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 by a conclusive 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
