Soccer Game Preview: Highland Park vs. McHenry

The Highland Park Giants will head out on the road to face off against the McHenry Warriors at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Highland Park fell victim to Maine South and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. Highland Park have struggled against Maine South recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, McHenry also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Crystal Lake Central on Tuesday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, McHenry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Crystal Lake Central are ranked 11th).

McHenry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Highland Park, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1.
