Recap: Avon Eagles vs. Midview Middies
The Avon Eagles lost against the Midview Middies back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Avon fell to Midview 56-52. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Avon in their matchups with Midview: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Molly Drenik, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Drenik has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grace Mangan, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Avon's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Midview, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Avon will be playing at home against Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Midview, they will head out on the road to face off against Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elyria is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
