Baseball Game Preview: Monache Marauders vs. Fowler Redcats

The Monache Marauders will take on the Fowler Redcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Monache sitting on four straight victories and Fowler on six.

Monache is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Tulare Western a 3-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Marauders have beaten the Mustangs on their field since April 29, 2021.

The result came thanks to Brody McCoy's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

On the hitting side, Monache saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Baxter, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Fowler was able to grind out a solid win over El Diamante on Friday, taking the game 6-2.

Fowler's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Monache, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.

Monache might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Fowler in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Marauders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
