Volleyball Recap: Salem Lions vs. Henryville Hornets
Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Henryville Hornets. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Salem took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 24-26, 20-25, 25-19, 15-10.
Henryville was led to victory by Ella Logsdon and Lylia Martin. Logsdon had 19 kills and two blocks, while Martin had 31 assists and three aces. Those 19 kills gave Logsdon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eva Hill, who had seven kills, three digs, and one block.
Salem's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Henryville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will face off against Orleans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henryville, they will challenge South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
