Volleyball Game Preview: Champlin Park Rebels vs. Wayzata Trojans + How To Watch

Champlin Park is 2-8 against Wayzata since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rebels will face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Champlin Park is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Minnesota's top teams: Chanhassen, who was ranked third at the time (Champlin Park was ranked 14th). The Rebels fell just short of the Storm by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Wayzata didn't have quite enough to beat Maple Grove on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Crimson: they've now lost three in a row.

Wayzata wouldn't go down easily and took Maple Grove into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 27-29, 25-23, 15-13.

Wayzata's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Champlin Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Champlin Park came out on top in a nail-biter against Wayzata in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
