Basketball Recap: T.W. Andrews Snaps 15-Game Streak of Wins at Home

T.W. Andrews entered their game against Bishop McGuinness on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The T.W. Andrews Red Raiders fell 54-43 to the Bishop McGuinness Villains. The loss put an end to the Red Raiders' undefeated start to the season.

Sanai' Johnson and Janiya Milligan certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Johnson posted 16 points, while Milligan dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Journie Barr, who earned six points.

Leading Bishop McGuinness to victory were Adelaide Jernigan and Jenna Moore. Jernigan went 8 for 16 en route to 20 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Moore went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and four steals. Jernigan's afternoon made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Morgan Aho was another key player, putting up four points along with six boards and four steals.

T.W. Andrews' defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-1. As for Bishop McGuinness, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

T.W. Andrews didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-15 win against North Forsyth on the 28th. Bishop McGuinness has also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Winston-Salem Prep on the 27th.
