Riverside Christian Academy has gone a perfect 8-0 against Alpha Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Royals will face off against the Timberwolves at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Riverside Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Ascend Leadership and fell 3-2. While the Royals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Aviators 25-20 in the first set.

Riverside Christian Academy took Ascend Leadership into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 11-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-19, 15-4.

Meanwhile, Alpha Academy suffered their biggest defeat since August 29th on Tuesday. They came up short against Wayne Preparatory Academy, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Timberwolves haven't been shut out since back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-10.

Riverside Christian Academy's loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Alpha Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Riverside Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Alpha Academy in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
