It was a good run, but Newcastle unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to the MacArthur Highlanders 57-53. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Racers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-45 back in December of 2024.

Newcastle's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for MacArthur, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Newcastle and MacArthur should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Newcastle (ranked 117th) will meet Tuttle (ranked 390th) at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, MacArthur will face off against Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 149 places (111 vs. 260).
