Basketball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

If Belmont was feeling good fresh off their 70-21 takedown of Melrose last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Belmont Marauders fell just short of the Watertown Raiders by a score of 41-38 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Marauders have suffered since January 12th.

Belmont dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Watertown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Belmont will take on Reading Memorial in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Watertown and Burlington will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
