Soccer Game Preview: Revere vs. South

The Revere Minutemen will take on the South Rebels in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Revere is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Rhodes on Wednesday as they made off with a 9-1 win. With Revere ahead 9-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Their offense was hitting Rhodes from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Carson Worley led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was South who was credited with the victory on Wednesday. The Rebels got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to West Geauga's two.

Revere's win bumped their record up to 9-5-3. As for South, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-9-2.

Revere took their win against South in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Do the Minutemen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
