Basketball Recap: Jefferson Skates Past Drummond with Ease

Jefferson's tournament run continued when they took on Drummond on Saturday. The Jefferson Panthers blew past the Drummond Trojans 56-22.

Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michaela Morris, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Morris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Toney, who put up 13 points and four steals.

The win got Jefferson back to even at 1-1. As for Drummond, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Three Forks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Drummond, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Florence-Carlton at 7:00 p.m. on January 16, 2025.
