Basketball Game Preview: Winter Springs Bears vs. Forest Lake Academy Panthers

The Winter Springs Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Forest Lake Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Winter Springs will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Winter Springs earned a 42-29 victory over Seabreeze. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Sandcrabs are ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Forest Lake Academy ended up a good deal behind Jones on Thursday and lost 53-35. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winter Springs will need focus on slowing down Brooke Maynard, one of several Forest Lake Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She posted three points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Isidro, who earned 12 points and six rebounds.

Winter Springs is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Forest Lake Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
