Football Recap: Sperry Comes Up Short

Sperry managed to slip by Sequoyah the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Indians. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sequoyah's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Crayton Sapp, who threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards. Another player making a difference was Hudson Hendricks, who picked up 125 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Sperry's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sequoyah, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sperry will welcome Dewey at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sequoyah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Webster at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Indians will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
