Volleyball Recap: Wisner-Pilger Comes Up Short

Wisner-Pilger lost against Douglas County West back in October of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Gators took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcon.

While Wisner-Pilger was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-13.

Emerson Bellar paced Wisner-Pilger's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bellar got some help from Ramsey Arduser and her 16 assists.

Douglas County West was led to victory by Abby Rayer and Parker Steskal. Rayer had seven digs and five assists, while Steskal had four digs and one assist.

Wisner-Pilger has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Douglas County West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Wisner-Pilger didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Douglas County West/Concordia on the 11th. As for Douglas County West, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Fort Calhoun on the 14th.
