Basketball Game Preview: Widefield Gladiators vs. Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks

The Widefield Gladiators will square off against the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Widefield was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-39 to Canon City.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 64-59 W against the Thunder.

Widefield's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Widefield was able to grind out a solid win over Cheyenne Mountain in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 68-56. Will Widefield repeat their success, or does Cheyenne Mountain have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
