Basketball Game Preview: Asheville Cougars vs. McDowell Titans

Asheville is on a three-game streak of home wins, while McDowell is on a eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Asheville Cougars will host the McDowell Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Asheville earned a 57-49 win over T.C. Roberson.

Asheville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hayziah Dillingham led the charge by putting up seven points in addition to ten assists and six rebounds. Dillingham is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zaryah Tucker, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for McDowell against Enka on Tuesday as the squad secured a 60-20 victory. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 26 points or more this season.

Asheville now has a winning record of 11-10. As for McDowell, their win bumped their record up to 21-0.

Asheville was taken down by McDowell 80-36 in their previous matchup back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Asheville was down 37-15.
