Preview: Rivendell Academy vs. Twinfield Trojans
Rivendell Academy is 7-1 against Twinfield since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Rivendell Academy will head out on the road to face off against the Twinfield Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Rivendell Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday.
Rivendell Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. The match between Rivendell Academy and Oxbow wasn't particularly close, with Rivendell Academy falling 40-22. Rivendell Academy has struggled against Oxbow recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Rivendell Academy had strong showings from Lily Murray, who scored 15 points, and Mason Fahey, who scored three points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Twinfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took down Peoples Academy 56-40.
Rivendell Academy bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Twinfield, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0.
Rivendell Academy skirted past Twinfield 66-63 in their previous matchup back in February of 2019. Will Rivendell Academy repeat their success, or does Twinfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
