Football Game Preview: Payette Pirates vs. Weiser Wolverines

Payette is 0-10 against Weiser since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Pirates will welcome the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Payette and Cole Valley Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pirates were outmatched by the Chargers and fell 55-7. Pirates fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Chargers since Friday.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 38 points the game before, Weiser was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Fruitland, falling 34-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since November 15, 2024.

Payette will have to contain Cole Ingle as he made an impact in Weiser's last game. He rushed for 91 yards, and also picked up 41 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Payette's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Weiser, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Payette was dealt a bruising 70-13 loss at the hands of Weiser in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 48-0.
