Softball Recap: Porterville Comes Up Short

Porterville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden West Trailblazers. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trailblazers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Daisy Maldonado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Porterville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Sandoval, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Porterville's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Golden West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Porterville is set to face off against their familiar foe El Diamante at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Golden West will square off against rival Redwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
